1 lb of thick sliced bacon
1 oz maple syrup (use the real stuff here folks or else you will have a corn syrup induced disaster)
1/2 oz chopped pecans (the kind used in baking cookies)
Take a typical cookie sheet with shallow sides. Cover the cookie sheet with relatively thick aluminium foil ( this step makes clean up very easy). Place the bacon on the foil covered cookie sheet.
Brush the bacon with your maple syrup.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans on the syrup covered bacon.
Bake in the over at 350 degrees for approximately 20-30 minutes. Trust me you will smell the bacon (so will your neighbors for that matter) when it gets close to being ready. Keep a close eye on it because it is very easy to let it go too far resulting in the maple syrup burning (this is very unappetizing).
Once cooked, place the bacon on a paper towel covered plate to rest for a while. This step helps to remove any excess grease left over from the cooking.
After the bacon grease cools it is very easy to dispose of the foil and the cookie sheet should still be as clean as when you first used it.
